Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)

Location: Irvine, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Complex inpatient Case Manager and Utilization Review RN role in a cancer specialty hospital setting.
• Responsibilities include Epic & InterQual documentation and SBAR communication.
• Weekend work is required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Minimum 5 years of Case Management experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience in Long Term Acute Care (LTAC), Rehabilitation, Acute Rehab, and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings.
• Utilization Review experience, including use of InterQual guidelines.
• Proficient in Discharge Planning and Medical Coding.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background checks within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including Social Security trace, county, nationwide, sex offender registry, education verification.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
• Education verification and diploma/transcripts required.
• Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification prior to start.
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
• Physical exam within last 12 months.
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable, with annual TB questionnaire.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer with boosters if needed.
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer with declination form if applicable.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with boosters or signed declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season.
• Drug screening: 10-panel oral drug screen within 1 year of start.
• Respirator questionnaire and annual RespSafety clearance for respirator use.
• Fit mask testing will be completed onsite (except for per diem clinicians who must have a fit test within 12 months prior to start).

Additional Requirements

• Must complete facility-specific forms including job description acknowledgement, health focus questionnaire, EHS information form, and any applicable exemption forms (religious, medical, COVID declination).
• COVID booster requirements or declination form if booster not received after September 2023.
• Passport-style photo may be required for badge (exceptions apply).
