Physical Therapist Travel Job - California

Job Details

• Location: Oxnard, California
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Work Setting: Both inpatient and outpatient (hired specifically for one setting)
• Weekend Requirement: Work either every Saturday or every Sunday
• Holiday Requirement: Work holidays on a rotating basis with permanent staff (typically one major and one minor holiday)
• Uniform: Polo shirt provided; wear khakis or black pants

Patient Population & Work Areas

• Inpatient: General inpatient, rehab, OR sub-acute
• Outpatient: Two clinics—one 20 minutes away (ortho, sports medicine) and one nearby (ortho, neuro, pediatrics, lymphedema program)
• Common Diagnoses:

  • Rehab: spinal cord injuries, stroke, brain injuries, some ortho, no ventilated patients
  • General inpatient: ortho, general medical, surgical, bariatrics, ICU, cardiac
  • Sub-acute: vented patients, long-term patients

Orientation & Systems

• Orientation: Floor-specific, 3 shifts
• EMR System: Cerner
• Pharmacy: 24/7 availability

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Experience with swallow studies
• Speech Language Pathologist experience

Additional Notes

• Rehab aides, OT assistants, and PT assistants are not part of this role
• Candidates will be hired specifically for either inpatient or outpatient based on need
• Speech therapists and occupational therapists have additional specialty requirements, but this role is for Physical Therapist only
• Work hours typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (may vary)
