Location: Petoskey, Michigan

Job Overview
- Work as a Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (CVU) caring for cardiology patients undergoing procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers.
- Care for approximately 300 open heart surgery patients post-op (18-24 hours).
- Manage patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies.
- Participate in national clinical trials through the research department.
- The unit has received a Silver Beacon Award and was redesigned by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
- The hospital is recognized as a Top 50 Heart Hospital in the U.S.
- Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.
- Dress code: Navy Blue Scrubs.
Contract Length
- 8 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Michigan (verification through LARA and Nursys required).
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (floating experience does not count).
- EKG experience required.
- Must be willing to float to similar units (Neuro, CVICU, Trauma preferred).
- Skills checklist completed within one year for RN specialties is required.
- Adherence to a strict 3-strike attendance policy regarding absences and tardiness (effective 6/1/2024).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing ventilators.
- Experience with CRRT and balloon pumps.
Additional Information
- Full-time employees of the hospital system are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
- Local traveler policy applies for those living within 35 miles of the facility.
- Nonbillable initial hours and specific overtime/holiday/callback markups apply (not detailed here).
