Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical
Location: Utica, New York
Unit: Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown (7th Floor)
Shift: Day (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Care for adult patients with diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation cases, general medical-surgical conditions, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues.
- Use specialty equipment such as IV pumps, nasogastric (N/G) tubes, and feeding tubes.
- Floating to other units is required.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- Unit size: 64 beds.
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience.
- Prior travel experience is required.
- Active New York RN license.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (can be obtained prior to start).
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographic information.
- Must provide a NURSYS report verifying all active RN licenses.
- Skills checklist matching specialty required.
- Resume must include documented travel experience.
- Return to Office (RTO) information must be included at submission.
