Description

Job Opportunity: IMC Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Work Schedule: Includes some weekends and holidays; minimal to no RTO (Return to Office)


Job Description

  • Work in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Stepdown setting
  • Required to titrate critical drips and manage complex patient care
  • Perform IV starts and lab draws/sample collecting
  • Must wear Royal Blue scrubs (not provided)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Intermediate Care experience within the last year
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Intermediate familiarity with flow management (FM)
  • Experience titrating critical drips

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of identity: Government-issued photo ID (color copy required)
  • Background check: 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including SSN trace, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, nationwide checks, and education verification
  • Education: Proof of RN education (diploma or transcript accepted)
  • License verification: Primary source verification and NURSYS verification required
  • Physical exam: Within 1 year of start, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • TB testing: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start; no PPDs accepted; if past positive, chest X-ray within 2 years and TB questionnaire within 30 days required
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines each; declination form accepted if negative/equivocal
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; declination form accepted if negative/equivocal
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Flu vaccination: Required during flu season (9/3 through 3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is provided; exemption requires detailed documentation and facility approval
  • Fit mask test: Completed onsite at no cost
  • Facility-specific forms: Must complete required forms including IS115 and IS119 (time sensitive, wet or DocuSign signature required)
  • Photo for badge: Passport-style photo required within 24 hours of signing; must meet specific criteria (shoulders up, no headwear, no selfies, jpeg format)
  • HealthStream modules: Must be completed prior to first day of assignment

References & Evaluations

  • Two recent supervisor/manager level references required (charge RN references accepted but not preferred)
  • References must be verified within 12 months of start
  • Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the agency over 1 year

Additional Notes

  • Candidates living within 30 miles of the facility will not be accepted
  • Candidates 31-50 miles away may face a reduction in bill rate (not included here)
  • Fingerprinting: Georgia GCHEXS fingerprint results required only for CNAs (not applicable for RN)
  • Candidates must be able to start approximately 3 weeks from offer date

This position is ideal for experienced critical care RNs seeking a night shift travel assignment in an IMCU stepdown unit with a focus on critical drip management and advanced patient care skills.
