Description

Occupational Therapist (Rehabilitation Therapy) - Contract

Location: Grants, New Mexico
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Days, 8 hours per day (40 hours per week)
Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient


Job Description

Provide occupational therapy services to help clients develop, recover, and improve skills needed for daily living and working. Assess patient needs and create personalized treatment plans. Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote patient independence and improve quality of life.


Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities using observation and standardized assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve functional skills.
  • Recommend and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on daily living strategies.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and progress reports in EMR systems.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists for coordinated care.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
  • Participate in professional development activities such as educational programs, in-services, and workshops.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in New Mexico
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
  • Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
  • Passed NBCOT exam and current Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) certification
  • BLS and CPR certification
  • Experience with mobility training
