CT Technologist (Computed Tomography) - Travel Assignment
Location: Redwood City, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist for a travel assignment in a hospital setting. The role primarily involves CT and general radiology duties with a focus on inpatient, ER, and outpatient care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in California
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Active BLS certification
- ARRT Certified CT Technologist (ARRT CT)
- ARRT Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R)
- Fluoroscopy certification/permit
Work Schedule & Environment
- Typical schedule: 12-hour night shifts
- Patients scheduled approximately 1 per hour, balancing inpatient and ER workload
- Weekend and holiday coverage on call; weekend shifts vary by proficiency and modality
- Orientation varies by specialty and experience:
- Ultrasound Tech: 1 week
- Radiology Tech without CT experience: 2 days (portables and OR)
- Radiology Tech with CT experience: case-by-case based on scanner familiarity
- Mammography Tech: training provided if no tomography experience
- Scrubs provided by hospital
- Radiologist available on-site or on call
Equipment & Technology
- CT scanners: Siemens 64-slice and 128-slice
- Ultrasound: Phillips equipment
- EMR system: Cerner
Additional Information
- Candidates with fluoroscopy permits are preferred to assist with OR and routine work
- Advanced certifications and venipuncture experience are a plus but not required
- Mammography certification and tomography training are desirable
- Experience working in the OR is highly valued
- Typical patient population includes ER, OR, inpatient, and outpatient cases
