Registered Nurse (OR)

Location: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (Monday - Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours

Job Overview

• Work in the Operating Room (OR) with 6 OR suites and 2 GI suites.
• Average of 12 cases per day.
• Common surgical cases include Total Joints, ORIFs, Tendon Repairs, Hernia, Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Robotic Bowel Resection, Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Pediatric Tonsil and Adenoids, Cataracts, and Blepharoplasty.
• Scrubbing is preferred but not required.
• Occasional floating opportunities to Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical, or Long-Term Care units based on comfort level.
• Use of Cerner EMR system.
• Dress code: Gray scrubs provided by the facility.

Call and Scheduling

• One night call per week after cases end until 6:30 AM the following day.
• Weekend call every 3rd to 4th weekend from Friday 6:30 PM to Monday 6:30 AM.
• Expected to work majority of holidays (approximately 2 out of 3 during winter).
• Call response time: 30 minutes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room nursing experience.
• Experience in General Surgery and Orthopedics (totals) required.
• Robotics and Gastrointestinal (GI) experience preferred.
• Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract).
• Certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA).

Additional Information

• Charge nurse role involves mostly managing the department.
• Collaboration with OR techs and CRNAs.
• Orientation includes up to 4 shifts, including cataract surgery.
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility have adjusted pay rates (not included here).
• Submission must note if the clinician has previously worked at this facility; if so, their last assignment must have ended at least 6 months prior.
