Cath Lab Technologist - Travel Assignment
Location: Bryan, Texas
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel contract
- Shift: Days
- Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (possible 6:00 AM start depending on cases) plus on-call duties
- Call: Required, with a 4-person on-call team (monitor, scrub, 2 RNs)
Unit and Work Environment
- Work primarily at Bryan campus (home base) with floating to College Station campus
- Facilities have multiple cath labs: 3 in Bryan (typically running 2 rooms simultaneously) and 2 in College Station (typically 1 room)
- Case volume varies: 4-6 cases minimum per day at Bryan, 4-6 cases per week at College Station
- Procedures include:
- Cardiac, Peripheral, Neuro, and Traumatic embolization patient care
- Electrophysiology (EP) cases such as ICDs, Pacemakers, Ablations (A-Flutter, SVT, A-Fib) mainly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Carotid procedures performed at College Station
- No interventional radiology (IR) specials performed in this unit, but peripheral and neuro cases are done in the labs
- Nursing staff circulates cases and monitors patients; staff are cross-trained to monitor cases using Merge Hemodynamics system (transitioning to EPIC Gold in October 2026)
- Scrubbing is performed by RCIS and RT techs
Required Qualifications
- ACLS, BLS, and ARRT certifications
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) verification
- Experience scrubbing routine cath procedures including peripheral and stroke cases
- Experience scrubbing EP cases, including LAAO (Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion)
- Pre- or post-operative experience preferred
- IR experience and emergent stroke case experience helpful (for registered nurses only)
Additional Information
- Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with the specified health system within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
- Profiles are submitted directly to the unit for consideration
Summary
This is a 12-week travel assignment for a Cath Lab Technologist with strong scrubbing skills in cardiac cath and EP procedures, including peripheral and neuro cases. The role requires flexibility to float between two campuses, call availability, and certifications including RCIS. Prior experience in pre/post-op and emergent stroke cases is a plus.
