Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Days
Location: Petoskey, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care on the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), caring for patients undergoing procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, bi-ventricular pacemakers, and open heart surgery post-op care (18-24 hours).
- Manage patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies.
- Participate in clinical trials managed by the research department.
- Work in a unit recognized with a Silver Beacon Award and designated as a Top 50 Heart Hospital.

- 12-hour shifts
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Michigan (LARA and Nursys verification required).
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (floating experience does not count).
- EKG experience required.
- Must be willing to float to similar units such as Neuro, CVICU, and Trauma.
- Completion of a skills checklist within one year of application for RN specialties is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing ventilators.
- Experience with CRRT and balloon pumps.
Additional Information
- Strict 3-strike attendance policy: termination after 3 absences or being more than 20 minutes late without valid documented reasons (e.g., communicable disease or hospitalization). Policy effective starting 6/1/2024.
- EMR system used: Cerner.
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs.
- Full-time employees of the facility are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
- Local travel policy applies for those living within 35 miles of the facility.
