Job Opportunity: Night Shift Multimodality Technologist
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Overview
- Provide diagnostic patient care services and perform diagnostic examinations using multiple radiology modalities.
- Independently operate imaging equipment across more than one modality.
- Manage daily department operations during scheduled shifts, including patient scheduling, equipment maintenance, and quality assessment.
- Maintain high standards of medical ethics and continuously update knowledge of evolving procedures and diseases.
- Provide age-specific care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
- Perform equipment quality control and accurately document all required records.
- Follow hospital and department guidelines for patient identification and safety, including ALARA, Image Gently, and Image Wisely principles.
- Demonstrate competency in patient care and technical imaging skills.
- After one year of experience, assist in instructing students and new staff.
- Use administrative skills to ensure accurate billing code entry in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Comply with all policies, including those related to Protected Health Information (PHI).
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited 2-year Radiologic Technology program (Required)
- Must meet education requirements for applicable imaging modalities
Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in a primary radiology modality
- Completion of orientation in a second modality preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- State of Ohio professional license (Required)
- Certification by ARRT, NMTCB, or ARDMS in at least one modality (Required)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (Required)
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient knowledge of modality-specific equipment, computers, PACS, EMR, and RIS
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and solve problems independently
- Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and follow directions to maintain regulatory compliance
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs)
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping
- Occasional climbing, crawling, balancing
- Constant use of eye/hand/foot coordination, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and feeling
Required Onboarding & Compliance
- Verification of professional license and certifications (Primary Source Verification)
- COVID-19 vaccine proof or approved exemption (preferred, not required)
- Positive titers or vaccination proof for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap (adult vaccinations only)
- Fit test completed within 1 year prior to start (specific respirator models required)
- 2-Step TB test or IGRA within 6 months; if positive, clear chest X-ray and current TB questionnaire required
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions
- Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including social security trace and national sex offender search
- Ohio fingerprinting and national criminal background checks as applicable
- Completion of competency exams and core competencies with minimum 80% passing score within 1 year prior to start
- Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance (annual renewal)
- Submission of a completed packet including resume, professional references, job application, and employment verification within 5 years
- Non-expired photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Badge photo (headshot with plain background, JPEG format)
Additional Information
- Must comply with all hospital and department policies and standards.
- Commitment to hospital mission and values expected.
- Ability to instruct and mentor students and new staff after gaining experience.
- Must maintain continuing education and licensure requirements.
- Adherence to patient safety protocols and regulatory readiness (DNV, Joint Commission) is essential.
