Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Night Shift)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:30–7:00)
Hours per Week: 48

Unit Details

• Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) unit with 32 beds
• EPIC electronic medical record system required
• Will cover postpartum (PP) and mother-baby (MB) care as well
• OB surgical recovery experience (C-section) highly preferred
• On-call hours approximately 16-20 hours over a 6-week schedule; alternatively, some staff pick up extra weekend and weekday shifts instead of call

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Copy of valid Driver’s License matching state of licensure
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions (updated annually)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific approved mask models required)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with annual updates)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines; negative titers require boosters
  • Hepatitis B: proof of vaccination, positive titer, or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required (no declinations accepted)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• NIH Stroke Certification required for all units except Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery (must be updated annually)
• NURSYS license verification as applicable
• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment or signed HIPAA form

Additional Notes

• Local candidates are not accepted for this travel contract
• Fingerprinting (Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI) required only for school placements, not for this position
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required
