Job Details

• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio: 1:2
• Number of beds: 4
• Weekend requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Blocked scheduling: Approved
• Floating: Not required but helpful to assist in Med/Surg

Unit and Patient Population

• Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) unit
• Common patient types: Antepartum, Triage, Labor, Postpartum, Newborn
• Number of births per year: 100-125
• Common drips: Pitocin, Insulin, fluids, Antibiotics
• IV pumps used: Alaris
• Charge nurse present on each shift (charge nurse does not take patient assignment)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in LDRP and Med/Surg nursing
• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Nebraska
• Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Valid driver’s license with ability to comply with a 50-mile radius rule
• Must pass a skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% (open book, pass/fail)
• Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination

Additional Information

• 12-hour night shifts
• No floating required but ability to assist in Med/Surg is beneficial
