Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) – Nights

Location: Sioux City, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide professional and clinical care as part of an interdisciplinary team in Labor & Delivery.
  • Must be comfortable floating to Post-Partum 1-2 shifts per week.
  • Float within the same discipline across local campuses.
  • Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC.
  • Night shift with 12-hour shifts.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience (within the last 24 months).
  • Experience in high-risk Labor & Delivery settings.
  • Experience at larger, high-volume delivery centers with 200-300 deliveries per month.
  • Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred.
  • High acuity Labor & Delivery experience required.
  • Must have completed multiple travel contracts (preferred).
  • EPIC STORK experience preferred.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (must be verifiable via Nursys).
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC).
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC).
  • Certification in fetal monitoring from the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Additional Requirements

  • Work history/resume must document 24 months of Labor & Delivery experience.
  • Skills checklist specific to Labor & Delivery discipline required.
  • Professional references or performance evaluations from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, or equivalent within the last 24 months preferred.
  • Candidates must have a taxable address more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible.

Scheduling & Overtime

  • Orientation offered on scheduled dates prior to assignment start.
  • Billable overtime after 40 hours per week.
  • Holiday and call-back pay multipliers apply.

Summary

This is a night shift temporary RN position in Labor & Delivery requiring strong high-risk and high-volume delivery experience, multiple certifications, and the ability to float within the discipline. Candidates must be located at least 50 miles away from the facility and have recent, verifiable L&D experience.
