Description
Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Akron, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day shift: 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM)
- Rotating weekends
- 1 day of call per month, holidays as needed
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried on assignment
- Background check including FCRA-compliant 7-year search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required prior to start and updated annually
- Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract; results required within 12 months and updated annually
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions
- Fit mask test (3M 1860 small/regular or 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap vaccine every 10 years (medical exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months of start
- MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B: titer, series, or declination documented
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed
- 10-panel drug screen required, updated annually (instant screens not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31)
Onboarding & Training Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; video must be watched before test)
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually
- Annual safety manual acknowledgement
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start for new and extension contracts
Employment History & References
- Employment application must include 3 years of prior work history, with at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting relevant to the assignment
- Two professional references within 1 year of start date from a manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director (co-worker references not accepted)
Additional Notes
- Modules and onboarding must be completed before clearance to start
- Fingerprinting results must be on file prior to contract extension
- Candidates with a break in employment of 2 or more months must update background checks
- Facility requires notification of latex allergies to ensure availability of latex-free gloves
This position is ideal for CT Technologists with solid experience in radiology/cardiology, who are comfortable with rotating weekend shifts and occasional call duties, and who meet the licensing and compliance requirements for Ohio.
