Registered Nurse - CVICU

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Job Description

Seeking highly motivated critical care nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The unit cares for some of the most critically ill patients, primarily focusing on cardiothoracic surgery (open heart recovery) and neuro/neurosurgery. The team also provides ICU-level care for COVID-19 patients, including those requiring ECMO support.

Unit Details:

• Capacity: 15 beds
• Patient Population: Adolescents through late adults (ages 14 to 60+)
• Diagnoses include: Cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, post cardiopulmonary arrest, post ventricular assist device placement
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:2

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum of 2 years of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience
• CVICU experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
