Registered Nurse – PCU (Night Shift) – Columbus, Georgia

Job Type

• Travel/Contract assignment
• Contract length: 12 weeks

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 36 hours/week)
• Every other weekend off (6 shifts per 6-week schedule)
• Floating within facility and possibly to sister campus as needed
• No call requirements
• Holiday work expectations:

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
  • If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
  • If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day

Patient Population & Unit Details

• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Unit type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with telemetry monitoring
• Bed ratio: 5 beds, average daily census ~4.5
• Unit systems: Epic (EHR), Pyxis (med dispensing), SBAR communication tool
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
