ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Stockbridge, Georgia
Position Overview
- Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)

- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
Patient Population & Unit Details
- Adults to Geriatrics
- Unit census: 24 rooms, average daily census of 19 patients
- Patient ratio: 1:2-3 (may be assigned a third patient)
- Common diagnoses: ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, Post-op complications, Cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, Encephalopathy, Liver failure, Drug overdose, ESRD on CRRT
- Unit systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Weekend schedule: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
- No travel pairs allowed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Onboarding
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
- Full compliance with all onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
Required Documentation & Health Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID (photo ID required)
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start (including education verification)
- Education verification of related degree (can be pending with proof of processing)
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with TB questionnaire updated annually)
- Immunizations or titers required:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Annual NURSYS license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Work history verification of most recent employer (can be pending with proof)
- Two clinical references required
Competency Exams (Aya Requirements)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (3 attempts allowed; failure on 3rd attempt results in cancellation)
- Color blind testing (alternative assessment available if needed)
- General competency exam
Additional Notes
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
- Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice
