Job Opportunity: RN Step Down
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a step-down unit with a focus on PCU (Progressive Care Unit), Med-Surg, or Telemetry acute care patients.
- Placement will be based on the nurse’s skills and the greatest unit need (PCU, Med-Surg, or Telemetry).
- Must be able to float within skill set to other units onsite or to sites within 40 miles if needed.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin.
- Minimum 2 years of stepdown nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- At least one completed travel nursing assignment.
- Experience in Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Additional Notes
- Must be able to complete all required onboarding and competency testing prior to or shortly after assignment start.
- Floating to other units or nearby sites may be required based on staffing needs.
- The role involves working night shifts on a step-down or telemetry unit with acute care patients.
