Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Work Hours

  • Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Fri-Sun, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM)
  • No on-call required
  • Up to 40 hours of requested time off (RTO) can be approved
  • Work within a 50-mile radius

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia (license pending acceptable)
  • Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually; must cover all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
  • Education verification through a third-party vendor; official transcript acceptable (photocopy of diploma not accepted)
  • Fingerprinting required only for Behavioral Health roles or specific units; may be required on a case-by-case basis
  • Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check required only for Behavioral Health or specific unit assignments
  • Proof of 2 clinical references required
  • Completion of employment application/resume and skills checklist as applicable

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit (verify with recruiter)
  • Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions (not applicable for CT Tech)
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required only for Behavioral Health nurses (not applicable)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, attesting ability to meet physical demands of position
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (Tdap after age 11, no exemptions allowed)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray with 2-step PPD within required timeframes; Qgold acceptable, Tspot not accepted
  • Annual TB questionnaire if past positive TB test
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no declinations/exemptions accepted for measles
  • Hepatitis B: Positive Hep B Surface Antibody titer required; if low/negative, additional antigen titer required
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer required; declination accepted but will not hold clearance
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (no exemptions)
  • Drug screening within 2 months of start and annually thereafter; 10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl required

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
  • Review and initial professional appearance guidelines and traveler compliance documents prior to start
  • Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles, completed onsite if needed
  • Completion of release authorization, TB screening, and other facility-specific forms prior to start
  • Radiation badge for CT Techs must be supplied by the facility (not provided by agency)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must comply with all state and facility-specific credentialing and compliance requirements
  • Documentation must include at least two patient identifiers (e.g., name, date of birth, address, phone number, or last 4 digits of SSN)
  • Fingerprinting and child abuse registry checks have specific processing timelines and may delay start if not completed on time

This position offers a focused night shift schedule with no call responsibilities, ideal for CT Technologists holding ARRT certification and a Virginia license (or pending). Compliance with comprehensive background checks, immunizations, and facility-specific protocols is mandatory.
