Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Snellville, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
- Work in a cath lab setting with adult to geriatric patient population.
- Procedures include diagnostic catheterization, PCI, orbital atherectomy, IABP, Impella, and device implants (no EP studies or ablations).
- Responsible for EKG settings, obtaining vitals, rhythm interpretation (sinus node rhythms required), pacemaker experience preferred.
- Experience required with GE Discovery, IABP, Impella, and CSI equipment.
- Unit uses Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR, and Merge (preferred).
- Patient ratio: 3 rooms with 5 beds, average daily census 8-10.
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM).
- Floating within department and facility; possible float to sister campus.
- Call requirement: 10 call days per month.
- Weekend schedule: Every other weekend.
- Holiday work expectations: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, must work it; if 2, must work both; if 3, must work 2 of them.
- Maximum return to office (RTO) time: 7 days.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Cath Lab Technologist.
- Current certification in one of the following: RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Experience working with Epic electronic health record system.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification.
- State license verification required (must be licensed in Georgia).
- Physical exam within 12 months of start date.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination.
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (seasonal requirement).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC).
- Color blindness test required; alternative assessment available if needed.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required with up to 3 attempts allowed.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required.
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually.
- Work history verification and 2 clinical references required.
Additional Information
- Scrub color provided by facility.
- Full compliance with all requirements needed to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling.
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length.
- Must review and sign facility code of conduct and dress/professional appearance policies prior to start.
This position is ideal for experienced cath lab technologists with required certifications and clinical skills, ready for a travel contract in a busy adult cardiology setting.
