Cath Lab Tech Travel/Contract Job in Greensboro, North Carolina


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), Monday to Friday
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

  • Work in a high-volume, high-acuity cardiac catheterization lab.
  • Procedures include diagnostic cath, structural heart interventions, cardiogenic shock management, and ECMO support.
  • Use of EPIC EMR and Philips monitoring equipment.
  • No on-call required.
  • Facility enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.
  • Candidates must be flexible with scheduling.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
  • Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required.
  • Social Security Card required for badge issuance.
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, including aliases and multiple search levels (national, federal, sex offender, etc.). No open hits allowed.
  • Education verification by a third party required; must be a graduate of a program in Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiovascular Technology, or an appropriately recognized Paramedic program.
  • Transcript or diploma not required for Cath Lab Tech but may be requested if education verification is delayed.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start.
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Adult Tdap vaccine proof
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • Fit mask test (N95) completed within the current calendar year and updated annually, unless exempted by position.

Testing & Competencies

  • EPIC test required with passing score; 2 attempts allowed, possible 3rd attempt with manager approval.
  • Pass/fail Dysrhythmia/EKG exam required (2 attempts max, minimum 82% score).
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable (minimum 80% score).
  • Color vision test required unless non-clinical.
  • Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal.

References & Work History

  • Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments:
    • One within 12 months prior to start
    • One within 24 months prior to start
  • Employment application/resume with 7 years of work history required.
  • Verification of all employment within the last 5 years through a third party vendor required.

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Badge photo must meet strict guidelines: no selfies, no cropped or filtered photos, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing pose.
  • Completion of Health History Form and upload prior to clearance.
  • Review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment forms.
  • Workday login and onboarding tasks must be completed before arrival, including multi-factor authentication setup.

Additional Notes

  • Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here).
  • Candidates must complete all compliance documents by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date.
  • Candidates should confirm no barriers (e.g., upcoming vacation) that would prevent timely compliance completion.

This position offers a structured day shift schedule with no call responsibilities, working in a technologically advanced cardiac cath lab environment requiring specialized certifications and experience.
