Respiratory Therapist Position - Des Moines, Iowa
Job Details
- Location: Des Moines, Iowa
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x 12-hour night shifts)
- Schedule: Every 3rd weekend required, no on-call duties
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Iowa
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Fit Test
- COVID-19 Vaccine (including booster by September 2025) or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
- MMR (proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series (proof of initiation required prior to start)
- Influenza Vaccine (optional)
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive (per regional requirements)
- Varicella vaccination or IgG titer proof
- Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)
Professional and Compliance Requirements
- Signed Code of Conduct form
- Completed I-9 form
- Confidentiality and Information System Security Agreement
- Integrity and Audit Services Form (signed shortly before start)
- Non-Employee Upload Form (specific to Iowa location)
- Specialty Specific Competency Testing (completed within last year)
- Criminal Background Check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years, including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start)
- Education Verification (highest academic degree or diploma verified)
- Exclusion and Sanctions Checks (EPLS, OIG, OFAC) dated within 30 days of start
- Joint Commission CORE Exam (within last year)
- National Sex Offender Registry check and Iowa-specific abuse registries check (within 30 days prior to start)
- System Access Form (completed and uploaded one week before start)
- Skills Checklist (provided by agency for clinical contractors)
- Tdap vaccine or declination (declination accepted if no pediatric interaction)
- Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only)
