Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location

  • Greensboro, North Carolina

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract

Contract Length

  • 8 weeks

Work Schedule

  • 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday
  • 9-hour shifts (8:00 AM to 5:30 PM)
  • No weekends or on-call required

Specialty

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ob/Gyn Sonographer, with experience within the last year
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • National technical certification relevant to Ultrasound Technology such as ARDMS or CCI
  • Experience working with High Risk patients
  • Ultrasound Technologist experience

Preferred Experience

  • High Risk OB and Obstetrics experience required
  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) experience preferred
  • Experience with viability and dating ultrasounds, especially 1st trimester
  • Familiarity with patient diagnoses O09.90 and OB diagnosis codes

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (required for badge)
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including aliases, criminal, sex offender, federal court, and education verification
  • Foreign equivalency education evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S.
  • Transcript or diploma for highest education level (if applicable)
  • Education verification by a third party, including high school diploma/GED verification
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (for flu season)
  • Fit mask test completed within current calendar year (N95 respirators approved)
  • Physical exam (if applicable)
  • Fingerprinting (if required by position; not typically for this role)

References and Work History

  • Two supervisory references required from clinical positions:
    • One reference from an assignment within 12 months prior to start
    • One reference from an assignment within 24 months prior to start
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Verification of all employment within last 5 years through a third party

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Candidate must complete all compliance requirements by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date
  • Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing)
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
  • EPIC test required for allied health professionals and RNs starting 9/19/23 (two attempts allowed, third attempt requires manager approval)
  • Medication and competency exams required as applicable by profession, with minimum passing scores
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs except Behavioral Health or Case Managers (two attempts allowed, remediation required after first failure)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications may be preferred depending on unit
