Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Direct Care Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Provide nursing care under general supervision to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
  • Obtain and monitor patients’ physiological data, intervening as necessary.
  • Administer prescribed medications, regulate and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and discharge.
  • Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
  • Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Shift & Schedule

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required

Work Hours

  • 8 hours per day
  • 40 hours per week
