Description

Respiratory Therapist

Location: Syracuse, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3 shifts of 12 hours per week)
Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday


Job Description

  • Provide respiratory therapy services during night shifts.
  • Work 36 hours per week on a rotating schedule.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New York
  • Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification

Required Onboarding and Compliance Documentation

  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Proof of vaccine or approved exemption required.
  • MMR: Proof of two vaccinations or immunity titer required.
  • Fit Test: Required (specific mask type for Iowa only, but must be current).
  • Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start date; titers not accepted.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Optional but recommended.
  • Tuberculosis Screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test required; positive TB requires chest x-ray within last year or five years depending on region.
  • Varicella: Proof of vaccination or immunity titer required.
  • Physical/Health Statement: Documentation of fitness to work from exam within last year required.
  • Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start, no THC allowed.
  • License/Certificate Verification: Must be verified online within 30 days of start.
  • Specialty Competency Testing: Specialty exam must be completed within the last year.
  • Skills Checklist: Provided by agency for clinical contractors.
  • Criminal Background Check: Federal, nationwide, and county checks from last 7 years, including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start.
  • Education Verification: Highest academic degree or diploma verified by third party screening.
  • Exclusion Lists Checks: EPLS, OIG, NSO reports dated within 30 days of start.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance Forms: Signed agreements including confidentiality, conflict of interest, code of conduct, integrity and audit services, and system access forms required prior to start.
  • I9 Verification: Standard employment eligibility verification completed by agency.
  • Joint Commission Testing: CORE exam within the last year required.

Additional Notes

  • This position is for non-local candidates only (must be outside a 75+ mile radius).
  • Electronic Health Record system used: EPIC.
  • Night shift with every other weekend and holiday coverage required.
