Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Location: Germantown, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Interventional Radiology)
  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • On-Call: Yes, includes weekend rotation
  • Weekend Requirement: Rotation with approximately 1 weekend call shift (Friday-Sunday) every 4-week schedule (6-8 call days per 4 weeks)
  • Block scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Locals: Not accepted (must be outside a 100-mile radius)
  • Start Date: ASAP

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Valid driver’s license

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) – Required for all RNs except those working at children’s hospital
  • Other certifications may be required depending on assignment but not specified for this role

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card, passport)
  • Valid driver’s license must be included with submission
  • Background check within 60 days of start including: statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated annually
  • Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
  • Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year, must pass without limitations
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (no pending or instant tests accepted)
  • Immunizations required:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low/equivocal)
    • Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low/equivocal)
    • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • TB testing: True 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; if positive, clear chest x-ray within 2 years plus annual TB questionnaire
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30); exemptions require mask wearing in patient areas and may delay start date
  • Photo for badge meeting strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters, recent within 6 months)

  • Two recent professional references required
  • Skills checklist and internal evaluation required if employed with agency for one year or more
  • Submission packet includes application, references, skills checklist, state license verification, and certification information
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
