Registered Nurse (Post-Partum) - Travel Contract
Location: Silverdale, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Post-Partum RN for a travel contract in a hospital setting. The unit focuses on postpartum mother/baby care including late preterm infants, bili light babies, preeclampsia patients, and management of quality bundles for postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), hypertension, hypoglycemic infants, thermoregulation, duramorph, and pain documentation.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per week: 36 (3 shifts of 12 hours)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday rotation as needed
Unit Details
- Unit type: Post-Partum
- Number of beds: 28
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3-4 couplets
- Charge nurse present; not acting as charge nurse
- Nurse aides available (one per shift)
- Floating: Not required
- Floor-specific orientation including Epic EMR training (8-hour class, office day, 2-3 shifts on floor)
- EMR system: Epic
- Scrub color: Hospital provided blue
- Telemetry: Not required
- Nurse's read strips: Not required for Post-Partum nurses
Patient Care & Procedures
- Common diagnoses: Postpartum mother/baby, late preterm infants, bili light therapy, preeclampsia
- Drips administered: Magnesium, insulin
- Ventilator care: Not required
- In-house support: OB hospitalist 24/7, IV team 24/7, Respiratory Therapy 24/7, Pharmacy 24/7
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Active Washington State RN license (pending license submissions accepted; temporary license takes ~4 weeks)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 full years of Post-Partum nursing experience
Additional Information
- Washington state tax auto-deducted but can be re-added
- Focus on adherence to quality care bundles for postpartum complications and infant care
