Registered Nurse (RN) Medical/Surgical - Day Shift

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Medical/Surgical specialty for day shift coverage.

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid, permanent RN license for Ohio (temporary licenses not accepted).
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing (defaulted to higher requirement if discrepancy).
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association only)
  • Current 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test within last 6 months (annual requirement)
  • Fit Test completed within 1 year prior to start
  • MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap vaccinations or appropriate titers/declinations as specified
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions
  • Proof of flu vaccine required during flu season (October–March) or completion of specific masking and declination forms
• Background and Verification:

  • Primary source verification of RN license and certifications within 30 days prior to start
  • Ohio fingerprints and criminal background checks compliant with state and federal regulations
  • Social Security trace, national criminal background check, OIG search, SAM/EPLS/OFAC clearance within 6 months prior to start
  • Drug screen (10-panel) within 60 days prior to start (no instant tests)
  • Education and employment verifications through third-party agencies (no attestations)
• Competency and Skills:

  • Completion of department-specific competency exams with at least 80% score within 1 year prior to start
  • Completion of core competencies (HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission topics) with 80% passing score within 1 year prior to start
  • Clinical skills checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (initial hire only)
• Additional Requirements:

  • Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Submission packet including resume, professional references (within last 2 years), job application, and employment history form
  • Badge photo (headshot, plain background, JPEG format)
  • Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance (annual renewal)

Preferred but Not Required

• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Annual negative PPD if 2-step not done within past year
• Positive PPD requires clear chest x-ray and current TB questionnaire (chest x-rays valid for 5 years)

Notes

• Temporary licenses are not accepted; must have a valid permanent RN license.
• Attestations are generally not accepted except for fingerprinting pending results with proper documentation.
• All verifications and background checks must be current and compliant with specified timelines.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
