Location: Williston, North Dakota

Radiologic Technologist (Ultrasound Technician)
Job Summary
Seeking an Ultrasound Technician to perform a variety of ultrasound imaging studies primarily in outpatient settings with limited on-call responsibilities. The role involves working with general ultrasound and echo rooms, with occasional ultrasound in the OR for rare cases.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Occasional weekend call only when other travelers are unavailable
- Call response time: 20 minutes
- Flexible scheduling options available (e.g., 4x10 hour shifts for long weekends)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound studies including OB limited, OB 2nd and 3rd trimester, OB follow-up, transvaginal OB, gynecological, abdominal, breast, soft tissue, thyroid, scrotum, venous and carotid dopplers, fetal biophysical profiles without NST, and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and FNAs
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of rooms and equipment
- Stock and check supplies for expiration
- Assist with patient transfers in other modalities when needed
- Use EMR/PACS systems (McKesson, CRTIS, Meditech)
- Operate Philips Epiq 5, Epiq Elite, and Mindray ultrasound machines
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience, including vascular and non-echo studies
- RDMS certification required
- BLS certification required
- North Dakota state ultrasound license required
- Comfortable providing compassionate patient care and producing quality imaging
- Ability to use computer technology effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- RDMS in OB/GYN, Abdomen, or RVT certifications preferred
Orientation & Supervision
- One week of unit/department-specific orientation (longer if needed)
- No radiology supervisor or lead tech on shift; nursing supervisor available in-house
- Radiologist coverage via teleradiology 24/7
Additional Information
- No clinical involvement beyond ultrasound imaging
- No IV starts required
- Scrubs: Gray scrubs required but not provided
- Average 6-8 scans per day with option for add-ons
- Limited on-call duties primarily covering outpatient and add-on ultrasound needs
- Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule and no recent employment with certain affiliated health systems within the past 12 months
- Return to office (RTO) required upfront; no additional RTO approvals after submission
