• Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)

Job Summary

• Provide professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Perform circulating functions such as monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition; manage overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments/equipment for use.
• Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.

Required Qualifications

Licensure / Certification

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience.
• Operating Room experience within the last year.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Must follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Required Credentials and Documentation (Summary)

• Current RN license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Professional resume/profile.
• At least two professional references.
• Driver’s license or state ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements).
• Health and immunization documentation including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted).
  • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza vaccine (optional; mask required if declined during flu season).
  • TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA, chest X-ray if positive, and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite).
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Background checks including criminal background, EPLS, and drug screening (12-panel) within required timeframes.
• Specialty competency exams and skills checklists completed prior to or shortly after start, with periodic updates.
• Completion of onboarding requirements including core competencies, unit-specific checklists (optional), and electronic profile setup.
