Job Summary

• Provides respiratory therapy services for inpatient, outpatient, staff, employee, and affiliated community group populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory therapy procedures.
• Performs aerosol therapy, secretion mobilization therapy, incentive spirometry, MDI therapy, suctioning, extubation, oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP management, cough assist/vest therapy, high-flow cannula/humidifier management, pulmonary function screening, fit testing, pulse oximetry, adult and pediatric EKGs, arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, and blood gas quality control.
• Manages mechanical ventilation and ventilator alarms.
• Performs adult, pediatric, and neonatal BLS when necessary.
• Verifies physician orders and documents procedure results.
• Assists with departmental in-service education.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Experience in critical care and NICU.
• Experience with V60 BiPAP and 980 Puritan Bennett ventilators.

Additional Notes

• Travelers must be able to participate in external patient transports.
