Location

Work Schedule
- Night shift, rotational
- 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Every other weekend
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care focused on protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities.
- Prevent illness and injury, alleviate suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses.
- Advocate for patients and families in a patient-centered care environment.
- Comply with New York State Nurse Practice Act and professional nursing standards.
- Promote a caring and healing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Serve as primary or accountable nurse as assigned.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely according to policy.
- Manage resources effectively including staffing, time, and supplies.
- Comply with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, unit councils, improvement initiatives, and peer review.
- Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education.
- Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practice.
- Support learning for new employees and students.
- Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- 2 or more years of Emergency Department experience
- Emergency Department experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
