Overview

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Unit / Role Details

• Medical-surgical inpatient setting
• Typical patient ratio: 1:6
• 34 beds with an average daily census of 27
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice
• No call required
• Every other weekend required
• Navy blue scrubs

Clinical Experience / Skills

• Experience with adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
• Common diagnoses include appendicitis, cholecystitis, small bowel obstruction, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, sepsis, hypertension, hypo/hyperglycemia, prostatectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, ostomy creation/reversal, exploratory laparotomy, and bowel resections
• Equipment experience includes NGT, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and wound vacs

Compliance / Scheduling Notes

• Maximum requested time off: 7 days
• Unable to accommodate time off from 5/25 to 5/27
• One major holiday must be worked if it falls during the assignment; two major holidays require working both; three major holidays require working two

• Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length
