Med Surg/Tele RN

Location

• Marshfield, Wisconsin

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Night shift
• 12-hour shifts
• 48 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Intermediate Care experience
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• 1 year of telemetry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification

Unit Details

• 29-bed unit
• Patient ratio: 1:4 on days, 1:6 on nights
• Common patient types include abdominal surgery, ear/nose/throat surgery, complex wounds, and general medical cases
• Telemetry is monitored by techs; RNs are not required to read telemetry strips
• Charge nurse takes a smaller assignment, but agency staff are not required to work in charge role
• Nurse aides are available

Equipment / Clinical Support

• CPAP
• BiPAP
• Vapotherm
• Occasional tracheostomy care
• No vents

Schedule / Expectations

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• No call
• Floating to other med/surg units may be required if the unit is overstaffed

Orientation

• 12 hours of computer training
• 12 hours of shadowing

Additional Notes

• Scrubs of any color
• Must clock in and out at the facility
• Auto-offer process applies
• If the clinician has ever worked for this facility, there must be an end date at least 6 months before submission
