ICU Registered Nurse
Location
Tacoma, Washington
Contract
13 weeks
Schedule
- Nights
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- Holidays rotate with permanent staff
Setting and patient mix
- Primarily PCU with float to ICU
- Medical ICU
- All critical care diagnoses
- ICU: 1:1 to 1:2 ratios
- PCU: 1:3 ratio
- Vents in ICU
- No vents in PCU
- PCU drips include cardizem, nitro, insulin, and heparin
- No pressors in PCU
Floating
- Float eligible between ICU and PCU
- May float within the region listed in the source
Required qualifications
- 2 years of experience in the specialty
- Active BLS
- Active ACLS
- Washington RN license
- Pending license accepted for submission
Additional details
- Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks; expect 25+ hours
- Floor-specific orientation is planned for up to 1 week with an educator, with a minimum of 2 shifts
- Travelers are not required to take IABP or CRRT unless they have that experience
- Candidates may not have been full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
