Diagnostic Imaging Technologist
Overview
- Permanent full-time role in Craig, Colorado
- Night shift
- Radiologic Technologist responsible for quality and efficient completion of radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation
- Registered in at least two modalities
Required Qualifications
- Must have 2 of the following registries, or be eligible for and obtain them within 1 year of hire: ARRT registration in Radiology (R), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Mammography (M), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), Sonography (S), or ARDMS registration in RDMS, RVT, RDCS, RMSKS, or NMTCB
- Current BLS certification, or must be obtained within 90 days
- Prior experience as a practicing Technologist in any of the listed modalities
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of CT Technologist experience
- Radiology Technologist experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of prior experience as a practicing Technologist in any of the listed modalities
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient education and quality patient care
- Practice radiation safety and follow ALARA standards
- Perform QC and operate equipment according to manufacturer recommendations
- Perform exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols developed with the Radiologist
- Assist with clerical duties, patient transportation, and answering/directing calls as needed
- Assist, train, or cross-train imaging staff members as directed
- Notify the Radiologist of STAT or emergent cases and provide ordering physician contact information
- Obtain informed consent when required
- Document medical history related to the patient and procedure
- Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory
- Submit written orders, registration documents, and required imaging forms to Health Information Management and the Radiologist
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and call service support when outside maintenance is needed
- Verify exam orders, patient identity, and prior studies before submission for interpretation
- Work overtime as directed and take call as required
- Assist or rotate to other imaging modalities when required and within the scope of held licensure and/or registry
- Take call, work holidays, and/or weekends
