Location: Craig, Colorado
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
Shift: Days
Overview
Responsible for the daily operation of the womens health section of radiology, with a focus on mammography imaging procedures, patient education, quality patient care, and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in radiologic technology.
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in Colorado.
- ARRT (R) and ARRT (M).
- Mammography Technologist experience within the last year.
- Two years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, CT, and MRI technologist.
- Cross-trained into other modalities, including CT, MRI, and DEXA.
- Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation.
- Suggest changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, and coordinate training and development in breast imaging specialties.
- Adhere to FDA guidelines for the mammography section.
- Maintain records for accreditation processes and inspections.
- Maintain the structured reporting system for audit reporting, statistical tracking, and workflow issue resolution.
- Complete daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Perform exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols developed with the Radiologist.
- Practice radiation safety and ALARA standards.
- Operate equipment according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and call a service engineer when outside maintenance is needed.
- Verify exam orders, identify patients using two means of identification, and provide exam education.
- Review and document medical history, obtain required informed consent, and ensure paperwork and prior studies are complete before Radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.
- Assist in other modalities, adjust schedules, and take call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
- Obtain additional training or certification as required.
- Assist with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
- Assist, train, or cross-train imaging staff members as directed.
- Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory.
