Travel Med-Surg / Step-Down RN (Flex Pool) | Night Shift | Hawaii

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in a Flex Pool role, providing support across multiple inpatient units including medical, surgical, and step-down settings.

Assignment Details:
Location: Hawaii
Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts, 18:45 PM – 07:15 AM)
Schedule: 36 hours/week after orientation
Engagement Type: Travel contract

Key Responsibilities:
Provide patient care across medical, surgical, and step-down units
Float between assigned units based on staffing and patient care needs
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Utilize and operate equipment such as wound vacs and chest tubes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure quality outcomes
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using EMR systems

Clinical Scope:
Flex pool role supporting multiple units including medical, surgical acute, and occasional cardiovascular care
Exposure to varying patient acuity levels depending on assignment
Support inpatient care needs across departments as required

Requirements (Must-Have):
Active Hawaii RN License (must be obtained prior to start date)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience (Med-Surg / Step-Down preferred)
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required or strongly preferred

Preferred Certifications:
PALS, TNCC, ENPC, Procedural Sedation (preferred but not required)

Floating:
Required to float between medical unit, Laulima unit, and cardiovascular unit (as needed)

Work Environment:
Acute care hospital with multiple inpatient units and varied patient acuity

Patient Ratios:
Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
Laulima (Surgical Acute): 1:6
Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
(Ratios may vary based on census and staffing needs)

Compliance:
Proof of immunizations required (no exemptions accepted)
Must complete employee health clearance prior to start
Must arrive prior to onboarding schedule to complete required screening and orientation steps
Patterns Hiring Job ID #294504. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
