Description
The Birthing Center is a level one low risk birth unit utilizing single room maternity care. Care is provided incorporating Orem’s theory of self-care and philosophy of family centered care. Care is administered on inpatient or outpatient status. The patient population includes obstetrical patients (antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum), clean female surgical cases, newborn stabilization, normal newborn care, pediatric patients during the Perinatal period. Cesarean births are performed and recovered in the Birthing Center. Nursing personnel are provided for therapeutic abortions performed on other units when staffing permits.
Submission Requirements
Current RN or CNM license - [REQUIRED]
1-3 years progressive leadership experience in maternal-child health - [PREFERRED]
Experience with regulatory surveys and perinatal safety programs - [PREFERRED]
BSN - [REQUIRED] - MSN, MHA, or related field - [PREFERRED]
Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (EFM) - [PREFERRED]
