Travel Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
Weekend: Every other weekend

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality bedside nursing care to critically ill patients. The RN will collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient conditions, and evaluate the effectiveness of care.

The RN will also coordinate and delegate nursing activities, participate in patient care conferences, provide patient and family education, assist with discharge/transfer planning, and support the professional development of nursing and ancillary staff.

Roles & Responsibilities
Provide direct bedside care to critically ill patients.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement plans of care.
Administer medications, treatments, and medical orders safely and accurately.
Assess patients and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan.
Coordinate and delegate nursing assignments appropriately.
Provide patient and family education and support discharge/transfer planning.
Participate in patient conferences and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Serve as a team leader to support appropriate patient placement and delegation.
Mentor, precept, and guide new staff and students as needed.
Apply evidence-based nursing practices and maintain professional competency.
May float to the Emergency Department and Step-Down Unit as required.
Requirements
2+ years of ICU experience – Required
Must be comfortable floating to ED and Step-Down
Previous travel experience preferred
Neuro-surgical experience preferred
Open-heart experience preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Active Michigan RN license at submission
BLS – AHA – Required
ACLS – Required
NIHSS – Required
TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN preferred
