Job Description
The Emergency Department RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients ranging from newborns and pediatrics to adults and geriatric patients. The department treats a wide variety of emergency conditions, including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
The RN must be comfortable caring for all assigned ED patients, including SANE patients, and may be required to float as needed.
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to emergency department patients.
Assess, monitor, and manage patients with acute and complex medical conditions.
Care for newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
Respond to trauma, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, MI, and respiratory emergencies.
Perform appropriate emergency interventions and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
Care for SANE patients when assigned.
Float as required by the facility.
Charge nurse experience is highly preferred.

Patient Population: Newborn, Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric
Common Diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, MI, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure
Specialty Equipment: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun
EMR: Epic
Scrubs: Navy Blue
Floating: Required
On-Call: None
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
Pediatric ED experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Epic experience required
Charge experience highly preferred
Must be comfortable caring for a broad patient population
Must be willing to float as required
Licenses & Certifications
Active New York RN license
All RN licenses must be verified through Nursys
AHA BLS
AHA ACLS
PALS
NIHSS
TNCC – must be in hand at submission
Current driver's license with an address matching candidate demographics
