NuWest Healthcare is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity emergency department on a 3x12 night shift schedule. This opportunity is ideal for an RN with strong emergency nursing experience and a proven background caring for critically ill and trauma patients in a Level I Trauma Center.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts
• Shift: Nights
• Experience Required: Level I Trauma Center experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid, comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions.
• Perform timely assessments, triage, and ongoing reassessment of patients based on acuity.
• Care for high-acuity, critically ill, and trauma patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Initiate and manage emergency interventions, medications, treatments, and procedures within scope of practice.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond quickly to emergent situations.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, trauma teams, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
• Assist with trauma activations, resuscitations, and other emergency response situations.
• Provide patient and family education, communication, and emotional support.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Follow hospital policies, emergency department protocols, infection prevention standards, and patient safety practices.

Requirements

• Active RN license in the applicable state.
• Current BLS certification.
• Level I Trauma Center experience is required.
• Strong emergency department nursing experience.
• Experience caring for high-acuity and critically ill patients.
• Strong assessment, prioritization, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
