Position Overview

NuWest is seeking highly skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses for an 8-week assignment at a medical center in a large metropolitan city with a diverse population. RNs will care for diverse adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions, including pre- and post-operative care, respiratory illness, infection, cardiac conditions, diabetes management, gastrointestinal disorders, and orthopedic procedures. Candidates must be fully committed to completing the 8-week assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to adult medical-surgical patients across a wide range of conditions, including pre- and post-operative care
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient progress
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Provide patient and family education
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Document care accurately and promptly in the medical record
• Follow infection control, safety, and patient privacy standards

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience in a medical center in a metropolitan city
• Current AHA BLS, MAB or CPI, and Los Angeles City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City)
• Completion of the required employee health clearance before the assignment start date
• Must be able to pass required background checks and drug screening
