Position Overview

NuWest is seeking skilled Registered Nurses for an 8-week Medical-Surgical contract in a Level 1 Trauma setting in a diverse metropolitan community. RNs will provide direct care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. Candidates must be fully committed to completing the full assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to diverse adult patients with medical and surgical conditions, including pre- and post-operative, respiratory, infectious, cardiac, diabetic, gastrointestinal, and orthopedic needs
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient progress, reporting changes in condition promptly
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge needs
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record
• Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting in a metropolitan area
• Current AHA BLS, MAB or CPI, and NIHSS certifications
• LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City) and completion of the LA County Employee Health Clearance before the assignment start date
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
