**Certifications Required:** - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - BLS (Basic Life Support) - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)* - NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) *Must be willing to obtain if offered the position. **Experience Required:** - Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room (ER) of equivalent size. - Previous Charge Experience preferred. - Charting system experience preferred, particularly with Cerner. **Skills Required:** - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure - Central line care/management - Emergency medications - IV vasopressors - Procedural sedation administration/monitoring - Managing conditions such as CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), burns, epiglottitis, near drowning, poison ingestion, sickle cell crisis, skin disorders, spinal cord injury, psychiatric hold - General Emergency Department procedures including obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs - Managing various patient conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, head injury, hyperglycemia, infection, mental/behavioral health conditions, respiratory infection, seizures, urinary tract infection, acute psychosis, drug overdose, managing violent behavior, suicidal patient - Chest tube insertion/management - BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance - Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) - Intubation and care of ventilated patients - Management of gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation - Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE - Triage skills **Patient Age Groups:** - Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics **Additional Requirements:** - Flu Vaccine required, with allowed medical/religious exemptions and declinations. - Pending license accepted with submission but must be active before start. - Local candidates must live beyond a 50-mile radius to apply. - RTO required with submission, expect to work some holidays. **Additional Unit Information:** - Interdisciplinary support from Respiratory Services, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary. *Tests and clearances:* - On-site drug screen will be conducted.
