**Certifications Required:** - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - BLS (Basic Life Support) - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - NRP* (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - *indicates preferred or required with conditions **Experience Required:** - Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ER of equivalent size (40+ bed ER, 200+ visits/day) - Level II or III trauma experience - Recent ER travel experience in the past 6-8 months preferred - Cerner charting system experience preferred **Skills Required:** - Experience managing and treating a wide range of emergency conditions and skills such as: - Abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma management - BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, blood product administration, and burn care - Care of ventilated patients, central line care/management - Chest tube insertion/management, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) management - Drug overdose, emergency medication administration, epiglottitis management - General adult/pediatric emergency department care - Gunshot wounds, head injuries, hyperglycemia - Identifying/reporting neglect or abuse, infection management - Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias - Intubation, Isolation Precautions/PPE use, administration of IV vasopressors - Managing splints, dysrhythmias, patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure - Managing violent behavior and mental/behavioral health conditions - Near drowning, performing 12 lead EKG/ECG - Poison ingestion, procedural sedation administration/monitoring - Psychiatric Holds, respiratory infections, seizures - Management of sickle cell crisis, skin disorders - Spinal cord injury management, starting and maintaining IVs - Suicidal patient management, traumatic amputation care - Triage and urinary tract infection management **Patient Age Groups:** - Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics **Additional Requirements:** - Travel experience is required - Flu vaccine is required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed) - Must be willing to obtain non-held required certifications if offered **Additional Notes:** - Pending licensure is accepted with submission; however, it must be active before start. - Local candidates within a 50 miles radius are not accepted.
