Position Summary
The MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to imaging protocols. The role involves operating MRI equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and collaborating with radiologists and healthcare staff to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MRI scans according to physician orders and imaging protocols
Position patients and explain procedures to ensure cooperation and comfort
Screen patients for MRI safety risks (metal implants, pacemakers, etc.)
Operate MRI equipment and adjust technical parameters for optimal image quality
Monitor patients during scans and respond to any adverse reactions
Administer contrast agents when required (if certified)
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
Ensure compliance with radiation safety and MRI safety standards
Follow infection control and HIPAA guidelines
Work collaboratively with radiologists, technologists, and front office staff
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiography
ARRT MRI certification (MR) preferred or required
State radiologic technologist license if required by the state
BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
Experience with Siemens, GE, or Philips MRI systems preferred
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of MRI physics and imaging protocols
Strong patient care and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient imaging environment
Attention to detail for high diagnostic image quality
Understanding of MRI safety zones and procedures
Work Environment
Outpatient imaging center
May involve standing for long periods
Interaction with diverse patient populations

Mitchell Martin Healthcare Job ID #26-54867. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
