Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location: Shelby, NC 28150 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
Setting: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Unit
Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 8/25/2025 – End: 11/22/2025)
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1780 - $1910
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
Holiday Expectations: Work 75% of holidays during contract
Floating: Required within region and scope of practice
Scrub Color: Green, hospital issued
Parking: Free

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (LDRP proficiency required)
Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or compact state (RN jobs in NC)
BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications required
Strong labor management skills: cesarean section circulation, triage, pre-op, PACU, and newborn resuscitation
Experience with Pitocin and epidural management
Ability and willingness to float to other healthcare facilities within the region
Epic EMR experience preferred
First-time travel nurses not accepted

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive patient care for laboring mothers and newborns in an LDRP setting
Manage labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care for 4–6 patients per shift
Circulate for cesarean sections and assist in pre-op and PACU
Perform triage and newborn resuscitation as needed
Administer and monitor Pitocin and epidural procedures
Collaborate with charge nurses, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Float to other units or facilities within the region as required
Document patient care using Epic EMR
