Labor & Delivery RN Job Details
- Location: Shelby, NC 28150 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Setting: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Unit
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 8/25/2025 – End: 11/22/2025)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1780 - $1910
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Expectations: Work 75% of holidays during contract
- Floating: Required within region and scope of practice
- Scrub Color: Green, hospital issued
- Parking: Free
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (LDRP proficiency required)
- Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or compact state (RN jobs in NC)
- BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications required
- Strong labor management skills: cesarean section circulation, triage, pre-op, PACU, and newborn resuscitation
- Experience with Pitocin and epidural management
- Ability and willingness to float to other healthcare facilities within the region
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- First-time travel nurses not accepted
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care for laboring mothers and newborns in an LDRP setting
- Manage labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care for 4–6 patients per shift
- Circulate for cesarean sections and assist in pre-op and PACU
- Perform triage and newborn resuscitation as needed
- Administer and monitor Pitocin and epidural procedures
- Collaborate with charge nurses, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Float to other units or facilities within the region as required
- Document patient care using Epic EMR
