PCU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Job Title: Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Location: Liberty, MO 64068 (Kansas City Metro Area)
- Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit
- Start Date: December 7, 2025
- End Date: March 8, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1810–$1940
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Work major holidays (schedule adjustment possible)
- On-Call: No on-call required
- Orientation: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (next dates: 12/8 or 12/15)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Missouri or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU nursing experience
- High acuity drip experience preferred
- Experience with arterial lines and BiPAP/Airvo devices preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Nicotine-free healthcare facility
- Ability to float to lesser acuity units as needed
- New graduate nurses are not eligible for this travel assignment
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support
- Administer and titrate high acuity drips
- Utilize and manage arterial lines, BiPAP, and Airvo devices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Float to lesser acuity units as required
- Accurately document patient care and progress
- Provide compassionate support to patients and their families
